Research Projekt 1.
The aim of this course is to sketch out the structure of educational management that the future will demand through historical and comparative examinations of the efficacy of Japanese educational management systems. This research is being conducted jointly with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B) (2016-2019)as "Research on the efficacy of Japanese educational management systems: Educational specialization in a new schools vision."
Specifically, the goal of the research was to: unite theoretical and practical approaches to asking how "school autonomy" reforms have changed the realities around educational management; give a historical context to awareness of the role of schools in Japan, their internal organization and external relations, and specialization among faculty and other staff members; clarify "specialization in education", and likewise, educational management systems and their associated issues envisioned under the guise of "team-based schools", and examine their efficacy through international comparisons; and analyze all of these issues comprehensively, to present an educational management structure that is capable of accommodating current realities in educational management while also making best use of Japanese characteristics.
