概要/Outline	大学・知識論研究の基礎を学ぶ。本年度は、大学・高等教育機関のなかで研究活動に傾斜した研究大学をとりあげ、それがどのような特徴を有し、どのような役割を果しているのか、その構造と機能について学び、また、そうした研究大学がどのように形成され、維持されているのかを検討する。研究大学の組織的基盤、経済的基盤を探るとともに、研究大学を支える上で重要な役割を果す政府にも着目し、政府と大学との関係も探る。特に研究大学という概念が早くに形成された米国の研究大学を取り上げ、可能であれば他国との比較もしながら、以上の検討を行う。 The aim of this course is to help students acquire an understanding of social structure, function and infrastructure of the Knowledge Production System related to higher education institutions. In this academic year, this course deals with the formation and foundation of American Research Universities.
到達目標/Objectives	アメリカの研究大学がどのように形成され、どのように維持されているのか、その形成の歴史をたどるとともに、組織的・経済的基盤を理解し、現在研究大学に起きている変化についての理解できるようになることを目標とする。
授業の内容/Contents	第1回　オリエンテーション 第2~15回　以下の内容について文献を報告し、討論を行う。 ・大学と科学 ・ドイツ近代大学の形成 ・アメリカのユニバーシティの形成 ・アメリカの研究大学の形成 ・研究大学の組織的・財政的基盤 ・研究大学と政府 ・大学の研究所 ・現在起きている変化
